Breakfast is continental. In the café, it's laid out on the bar to help yourself from, and though the selection isn't copious, is appetising: think croissants, pains au chocolat, blueberry muffins, mini quiches, granola and yogurt, rustled up in The Pig & Fiddle kitchen which the Broad Street Townhouse shares. Thumbs up for orange juice being freshly squeezed, and the coffee being made to order from a serious Italian-style machine. You can also have breakfast delivered to your bedroom in a wicker basket, or to go.
The café is open through the day for drinks (hot ones free to resident guests – a nice touch), sandwiches and cakes. Come evening, it becomes an under-the-radar bar, and you can order cocktails, wine and beer, and cheese and charcuterie boards. The Pig & Fiddle does pub grub such as mac and cheese, hot dogs and burgers.
