Broad Street Townhouse Review, Bath, Somerset, England

Breakfast is continental. In the caf, it's laid out on the bar to help yourself from, and though the selection isn't copious, is appetising: think croissants, pains au chocolat, blueberry muffins, mini quiches, granola and yogurt, rustled up in The Pig & Fiddle kitchen which the Broad Street Townhouse shares. Thumbs up for orange juice

Breakfast is continental. In the café, it's laid out on the bar to help yourself from, and though the selection isn't copious, is appetising: think croissants, pains au chocolat, blueberry muffins, mini quiches, granola and yogurt, rustled up in The Pig & Fiddle kitchen which the Broad Street Townhouse shares. Thumbs up for orange juice being freshly squeezed, and the coffee being made to order from a serious Italian-style machine. You can also have breakfast delivered to your bedroom in a wicker basket, or to go.

The café is open through the day for drinks (hot ones free to resident guests – a nice touch), sandwiches and cakes. Come evening, it becomes an under-the-radar bar, and you can order cocktails, wine and beer, and cheese and charcuterie boards. The Pig & Fiddle does pub grub such as mac and cheese, hot dogs and burgers.
