Social media is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. Courtney Winston’s video is the perfect example of social media deceiving its users without any remorse.

A video titled ‘Courtney Winston car accident’ has gone viral on the scandalous social media platform TikTok.

The footage has put the viewers in a dilemma as they can’t seem to figure out if the video is real or not.

Apart from the vagueness of the video, TikTok has earned a reputation for spreading false information just for the sake of getting some likes which makes it more difficult to trust the platform’s content.

What the owners of these platforms don’t realize is that even an unreal video can impact the viewers undesirably and have long-term effects on a person’s mental health.

Therefore, whenever scrolling through social media, one should strictly remember that there is always more than what meets the eye.

The Courtney Winston video was posted by an account named ‘RBX Leak.’ Owing to the bothersome graphics and audio of the “animated video,” it has managed to garner more than half a million views.

Sadly, on social media, the relationship between fakeness and fame is directly proportional. The more unsettling a video is, the higher are the chances of it becoming popular.

The poster has not claimed the viral video of being real, but the caption of the distressing video claims that it is a remake of a real incident that happened years ago in Florida.

Furthermore, the gut-wrenching video is only a couple of seconds long, but those seconds are enough to frighten someone for a long period of time.

In the clip, a rash female driver is seen hitting a group of school students who were crossing the road.

Why the driver couldn’t stop her car or how the children got to the middle of the road unsupervised is a mystery to date.

Post the horrific incident, the female driver is seen screaming at the top of her lungs after seeing the innocent children that she reportedly hit and killed.

Highly sensitive people should not even try to watch the video as it can trigger a chain of unwanted stress, anxiety, and panic for them.

The caption of the video claims that the incident originally happened on December 15th, 2016.

It further states that the female driver was 34-year-old Courtney Winston who ran over a group of students, none of whom survived the fatal accident.

A bit of probing and scrutinizing revealed that no such accident happened on the alleged date or any other date for that matter.

No accident matching the above-mentioned description was reported in Florida or any other part of the USA.

The user just wanted to gain some likes and money by promoting something as baseless as the Courtney Winston video.

When you point a finger at someone, you should be ready to face the three fingers that point right back at you.

Similarly, the poster of the unsettling video was bombarded with questions from curious viewers.

The people wanted to confirm the authenticity of the clip and therefore, asked the poster to reveal more details about the alleged accident.

Unfortunately for those who were looking to witness more drama, the poster put an end to the series of questions by saying that they don’t know where the audio is from and the video was not meant to be “this serious.”

Obviously, the unrelated audio has been attached to the visuals from a game to make it look real. So, it’s safe to say it’s only fabricated.

Fortunately, some TikTok users were aware enough to conduct their due diligence before trusting a TikTok video blindly.

One person wrote, “I did some research and can’t find any crashes relating to the description not even the name or date brings anything up.”

Meanwhile, a few naive people who still thought the video is real sent their prayers and condolences to the victims’ families.

Repercurcissions of fake social media content

Fake content on social media has become a norm and more and more people have been falling prey to it.

People who post such content are oblivious to its effects and consequences on the viewers. Even though the truth does come out at some point, the curiosity and attention such fraudulent content creates is enormous.

Sensitive individuals suffer the most at the hands of fake content because it haunts them by putting them in a state of anxiety.

Courtney Winston video serves as a stark reminder that the truth must prevail at any cost and all viewers should verify the content at their own end before they even think of believing in it.
