Drake has been one of 2016’s most prominent chart stars. Just as the year is coming to an end, he has added another chart record to his name.

The Canadian artist has clocked up his 132nd Billboard Hot 100 entry. Drake features on Gucci Mane’s ‘Both’, which debuted at number 41 on this week’s chart. He now equals Lil Wayne’s record for the most Hot 100 appearances among soloists in the chart’s 58-year history.

However, both artists have a lot of work to do if they want to claim the title of the most Hot 100 entries of all time. Whilst they have already beaten artists such as Elvis Presley (108), James Brown (91), and Jay Z (86), a mighty force with over 200 entries stands in their way.

Yes, the cast of Glee currently hold the title of the most Hot 100 entries, with a total of 207 to their name. Considering Drake’s record-breaking year, we’re confident that he is the man to overtake this record in the future.

Drake rounds up the year nicely, after being named Spotify’s most streamed artist of 2016. His single ‘One Dance’ became the first track to be streamed one billion times on Spotify and was named by Billboard as the Song of the Summer. The track also topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for 10 non-consecutive weeks, and the UK Singles Chart for 15 consecutive weeks. Drake’s album Views also topped the charts across the globe, and is now certified platinum in the UK and 4x platinum in the US.
