Although she enjoyed reporting weather events, she said that the most rewarding aspect of her job was being able to make a difference in the community. Michelle also apologized to Block Island residents for failing to disclose her pregnant belly during her weather forecasts for several months.
Muscatello has been involved in a variety of things other than covering news events and working early mornings since joining WPRI in 2004. She has delivered school speeches, mentored interns, and worked with numerous organizations such as Make-A-Wish MA/RI and MADD.
She also gave her time to Special Olympics, Project Undercover, the American Cancer Society, and the American Heart Association. Michelle stated that her children had grown up swiftly, with one of them starting high school the following year.
