In tonight’s NCIS: Hawai’i episode, Analisa Cruz was more than she let on. She pretended to be Alexi Volkoff’s assistant. She was actually his partner and she came to Hawaii on her own.
She pretended she was dragged there by kidnappers, but that too was a lie. She always knew where Volkoff was. She wanted access to Compound X. It was a bioweapon that Volkoff created. Cruz plans on giving it to her friends. She even dosed the ELITE team with the virus and Sam accidentally got infected as well. He tried to save his team.
New Jesse stopped him. The kid didn’t want Sam dying like the rest of them. He stopped Sam from going into the room only Sam’s face respirator had a crack in it. He still inhaled some of the air. He inhaled Compound X. He got infected. He couldn’t save his team. He tried going after Cruz.
His symptoms stopped him. He was slowly dying and she got away in the chaos. Sam was found by Jesse and Tennant. They were so concerned about Sam that they didn’t care that Cruz was getting away with the virus.
They brought in Dr. Chase. She checked out Sam. She was an expert in bioweapons. She saw what the virus did his team and so she didn’t understand why Sam was still alive.
Sure, he was barely infected. He got a mere second of the virus. It was still slowly killing him. What Sam couldn’t understand was why it didn’t infect Cruz the same way. She breathed in some of the air. The only reason she’s not dead herself was because she has an antidote. They could still save Sam’s life if they get their hands on the antidote.
They just needed to find Cruz first. They did some digging into Cruz. She legally changed her name from Tala Flores to Analisa Cruz. She was originally from the Philippines.
She was radicalized into hating Americans. She wants all of American involvement to leave her country. She hated American imperialism. She wanted to break them. The virus was the best way to do that. She escaped with it. Jesse went into the room with the dead ELITE team. He found what was left of the antidote. He took it and he ran into some problems with the Serbian police.
Whistler had called in some favors. The Serbian police were going to guard the chemical plant where the ELITE team were killed. It was their job to guard the building until the hazmat team arrived. Tennant meanwhile went after Cruz.
They know now that she lied about everything because she intended to betray them. Its why she changed her name in the first place. She wanted to fly under the radar and what she couldn’t do was stop a bullet. Tennant shot her when she caught up to her. It was a shoulder wound.
It was a through and through. Not that it stopped Cruz from complaining. She was yelling about human rights and wanting to see a doctor. Tennant locked her alone in a room.
Cruz also no longer had Compound X. She already handed it over to her terrorist group. She was still kept as a prisoner because Tennant wanted information on the group and on the virus itself. Only Cruz didn’t want to give up information. Tennant ended up telling her what they found out about Tala. Tala was evicted from her house to make room for an American army base.
Tala’s mother died of cancer. Her father killed himself. Tala was separated from her only sister. She managed to finish school and get a PHD in Chemistry. She made something of herself. That’s when she became Cruz. She just didn’t know how to let go of the anger. Tennant was also angry.
She watched Cruz killed several of the ELITE team. She was watching Sam die. She wanted to hurt Cruz. She really wanted to hurt her after her team learned that the terrorist group traveled back to Hawaii. That Hawaii was where they planned on releasing the virus.
Tennant’s people tracked down Cruz’s sister, Maria. Maria was living with family in Canada. Tennant had Maria detained and tied to a chair. She said that everything she orders to happen will be done to Maria. Tennant planned on breaking Cruz. She knew Cruz could withstand torture. Can Maria do the same?
Cruz must not have thought so because she cracked. She begged for her sister’s life. She didn’t know where the terrorist group was. And once her sister was tortured some more, Cruz admitted that they planned on attacking the Pacific Launch Initiative.
American military were coming together on the island to discuss the military’s future in the Pacific. Once Cruz told them what they needed to know, they ended the live footage of her sister.
It wasn’t her sister by the way. The whole thing was AI. It was actually Lucy. Tennant also didn’t think she broke Cruz. Not truly. She thought Cruz was acting. She said that any spy would have a back up plan. She realized that the terrorists weren’t after the servicemen and women. They were after their families. Their families had a devoted day to hang out.
They would be the perfect victims for a terrorist group. All the terrorists had to do was knock out a couple of staff members of the hotel. They stole their clothes and badges. They wore masks.
They planned on releasing Compound X through the air circulation system. NCIS that were on the island found the terrorists and stopped the attack. Sam was given the antidote now that they don’t need it to create more. Sam being back on his feet came in handy when Cruz broke out of the room. Sam shot and killed her.
Cruz would have killed the doctor if he hadn’t taken the shot.
Sam traveled with NCIS back to Hawaii. They had a party for their fallen. Tennant later returned home to find Maggie waiting for her and Maggie said she should get a drink before whatever it was comes next.
