Zipse is a fan of trying out and introducing innovative technology inside his BMW group. In support of the use of exoskeleton vests on workers working at BMW’s manufacturing plant in Spartanburg the company, he said: “We take out all opportunities to try something new, which we haven’t done so far. If the idea works in Spartanburg, we go somewhere else.”

Zipse was a high school graduate at Bensheim around 1983. He was a computer science student and math in the University of Utah in Salt Lake City from 1983 until 1985, without earning the degree.
